An Address to the Arab Muslim Women (19/32)

He naively and wrongly thinks you are submissive and obedient by nature.
That is why he treats you with no consideration just as a piece of furniture.

He does not ask your viewpoint. He would not care less whether you consent or object.
Even though you are his partner, he regards you not as a human being but as an object.

It is nothing new. That has been always the practice for centuries,
Not only where it was originated but everywhere, in all countries.

He sure makes you often cry, but you don’t recall having made you laugh.
He seldom tries to cheer you up. In all his behavior, he is rough and tough.

In their point of view, you should consider yourselves very lucky.
For they treat you simply as a half human being, not as a monkey.

Because of the inferiority complex instilled in you since your birth,
No matter what you do you think nothing coming from you is worth.

You imagine people look down on you. You do your best to show your true worth,
In order to feel better, but that is all in vain. You only make your condition worse.

Sometimes you get so disgusted with yourself and life, you wish you had never lived.
However when you think of some good small deed you have done, you feel relieved.

No matter how unworthy you feel, don let yourself down. Don't sink.
You're useful. Rest assured you have more potential than you think.

You don't have to be a somebody, you are loved unconditionally. Remember
You are a worthy just as a you are, a human being, not a machine, a number.

In the court of justice, a convict may have a single man to witness on his behalf,
Or two women, for a woman is regarded not as a full human being but as a half.

It is obvious, without women there would have been no men.
They know very well that they owe their existence to women,

Carried and nourished for nine long months in their abdomen,
Yet some of them do not scruple to regard you as a bad omen,
