An Address to the Arab Muslim Women (5/32)

One can tell very quickly who he is, by him using slang,
And telling bad jokes, as well as by slips of the tongue,
Relating unbelievable stories that are all hard to swallow.
The funny thing is that he could be a highly educated fellow,
A Ph.D., a professor of philosophy or of international law.
He thinks he’s perfect, not admitting having one single flaw.
Men of all ranks tend to be alike. "As above, so below."
Whatever one of them undertakes, him do all others follow,
Whatever his standing and social status, be it high or low.
He swims against the current instead of going with the flow.
He comes to his senses, when he experiences a hammer blow
He takes all his time when dealing with him, being too slow.
Yet he wants everyone he is dealing with to be very hasty.
He is at times pleasant. He then suddenly turns very nasty.

He happens to be occasionally, gentle, affectionate
And very tender as to address you as my dove.
He caresses you with the tiger's claw under the glove.
So watch out! He is unstable and temperamental.
One day he may radiate with all Christian love.
One thinks he is some kind of a church minister.
The next day, you no longer recognize him,
After turning into a nasty fellow, a villain monster.
That is the way he behaves with you as a woman,
Regardless of whether you are his wife, or a sister,
He may show love and consideration towards you,
If you are married, hard working and beget children,
If you are strong and can be used as beast of burden,
He is happy as if living with you in Garden of Eden.
But if you are no longer functioning, and are barren,
Should you be in such a bad health, weakly, bedridden,
And if he suspects you have something dubious hidden
You are repudiated, no more desirable, cursed, banned
From undertaking any action, ostracized and damned.
In addition to that woe unto you if you happen to be a spinster.
He may defend you against outside denigration like a barrister.
Yet his behavior at home doesn't differ from that of a gangster.
He always does something nasty, just to prove he’s the master.
It is obvious, any confrontation with him may lead to disaster.
